Border Classic Sunday - 16th May 2010
One of the benefits in the wide scope of Border Motor Clubs members interests, has been the Border Classic, this event has become one Lincolnshires finest classic car rallies.
The classic consists of an approximate 100mile run, using as many 'b' roads as possible, avoiding the busier 'a' roads and providing the driver and passenger (s), a pleasant, and scenic day out. The route instructions are provided by a road book, in a similar manner to stage rallies, with easy to follow 'tulip' diagrams of all major junctions, to ensure all 'competitors' follow the correct route.
Feedback from previous years has often been that we have used roads that people never knew existed, some of the routes have been found by the accumulative knowledge gained from 12car Events, and used on our event, to provide entrants with a classic car run with a difference. Although ours is still a classic car run, we organise it from a motorsport perspective, and run it in the same precise manner as any of our events. This doesn't mean that you are required to drive as though you've stolen it! The Entry is open to all ages of classic car, so we allow both Austin 7's and Triumph Stags an equal opportunity to drive at a pace in keeping with both the Vehicle and Crews comfort.
Organised and run in the same manner as all of Border's events this always proves to be a good day out for both entrants and organisers alike
